Thanks to a lot of great information on this board I am ready to apply for a prime card. I have two problem accounts that are not hurting my FICO much (750), but will not come off.

A utility bill paid after c/o 3 years ago.

Also a CC with 0 balance, listed in the positive group, but shows closed by credit grantor. No lates.

Are these enough to keep me out of a prime card? I have 6 positive T/L's and 1 installment.

    Looks good to me.

On your positive TLs, how old are they and what kind of limits.

Also what is your utilization look like.

How many inqs are listed on your CRs.

Finally what kind of prime cards are you looking at to apply for?

    Best regards,

All my cards are subprime, total CL 5000, utilization 15 per cent. Oldest card 4 yrs. My DH just had a dept store card of his changed to joint. It will take a while to show up but when it does....... 20 yr T/L with no lates, 10 per cent utilization.

One inq in last 6 mos. Two total in last 12 mos.

I was thinking about the Citi AA card because we travel on American and the Generations card because they do not report to the CRA's and we are going for a mortgage soon.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thx.

Citi AA is a good choice, maybe one of the Citi experts here can give you a few pointers as I'm on their black list.

Forget the Generations, as I think you need good solid reporting positive TLs for your mortgage applications.

Maybe BofA, Chase or Amex Blue (rewards or cash).

Two or three inqs. should not be that bad of a hit on your FICO.

    Best regards,
