Hello All, this is a great board! I think I am ready to tackle my credit score, and I know your insight will make this less painful. I have a bank loan that has been paid in full, but has two 30 days late tradelines. I have a wireless charged off debt for $140, and I just received a letter from a new CA that took it over. Both of these are 4 years old. Also I donâ??t know if I should have done it gradually or not, but I recently (yesterday) paid up all revolving accts. so that the balances are less than 30% of the limit. My goal is to remove any negative tradeline data. Also I recently closed a CC, because it cost too much annually. I had it for like 4 years, but my other credit cards I have had longer. I have several lost/stolen cards tradelines and different addresses (college). I have been paying everything on time, and my student loans are consolidated and in forebearance. What is your opinion on my first move, goodwill? Thanks in advance.
1. send DV letter to CA via CMRRR 2. once you get green card back in mail, send dispute to CRA via CMRRR 3. CA cannot legally continue collection activity until the debt is proven and verifying with the CRA is considered collection activity. your goal of this is that it will take longer than 30 days to prove the debt, therefore the CRA will have no choice but to delete. does that help or did i make it worse?
These samples seem to be very forward. The first vd letter I will be sending the CA, is for a legit debt (that the cellular company -OC ) would not see things my way on. My goal, is for this vd to remain in limbo during the 1-2 punch. Should I not send a nicer vd, like Psych-doc suggests in other posts...or should I send a demanding letter, and which one? Thanks again for your assistance
you should use whatever works best for what you are trying to accomplish. FWIW - on a friends report they had a legit cell collection (AT&T WIRELESS) and they weren't able to validate. they eventually did but it never got reinserted.
I received all of my credit reports and I will post them later today. Surprisingly, the wireless debt is not on any of the reports, but remember I just received a CA letter for this debt which was charged off. The CA letter read that they are taking over this account. Is the 1-2 punch still the best attack, since it is not on my CR's? I have alot of "lost card tradelines, is this a negative as well on my score? I will post by adverse accounts later this afternoon, from my CR's. Thanks in Advance
My wireless is not on my CR, there are several â??lost/stolensâ?, and all accounts show where I have exceeded at one point the credit limit (even those in good standing). I also have my previous addresses on the CRâ??s. All accounts chave removal dates of around 2008, and my inquiries are EQ-7, TU-6, EX-3. Everything else is listed as positive. Also, does the lost/stolen tagline hurt and what should be my course of attack? As always thank you in advance. (Let Me At 'EM!!! RRRRR) Bank A Loan 1 Ex: paid, closed/past 30 days Tu: same-deposit related EQ: same-deposit related Bank A Loan 2 Ex: paid,closed/past 2-60, 2-30 Tu: Past 2-30dy, 1-60dy (tradeline remark-max deliquincy) EQ: Past 2-30dy, 2-60dy Bank Credit Card (MC) Ex: Past 1-30dy in 2002, lost/stolen Same Bank Credit Card (MC) Ex: Past 1-60dy, 2-30dy, lost/stolen Tu: Past 1-60dy, 2-30dy lost/stolen (acct number is different though) Not on EQ as past due, only lost and stolen Direct Loan (School) Tu: 1-60dy, 1-90dy (trade line remark says max delinquency) (pay status-unrated) Ex: paid as agreed-deferred
Re: Re: Ready to Tackle CR YES, you want to send the validation letter to the CA as soon as possible...once they receive it they cannot legally take any further collection action until they provide validation If they put a TL on your CR's without validating they have violated the FDCPA for which you may collect 1000$ if you sue
Re: Re: Ready to Tackle CR On my credit cards that are reported late on my CR, I called the company and they said they can only see back 2 years, and I have paid as agreed. Should I directly dispute the CRA as never late?
Re: Re: Re: Ready to Tackle CR Thank you, I hope all is gradually going in the right direction for you Jenz!
