An update on a previous post:

I had a car loan which I reaffirmed during my BK. It was always current. After BK, it was reported to the credit bureaus as "paid never late," but also included the statement "Reaffirmation of Debt." According to the credit bureaus, this statement was a negative factor.

I wrote to the creditor and reminded them that I had always been current on this loan, and asked if they would remove the statement on my credit reports. They wrote back within a week, stating that they had updated the credit bureaus and even included a copy of the form they use to report to the credit bureaus!

I never thought it would be so easy! Now I need to tackle the really hard ones!

Was this the way the reaffirmed tradeline was listed on your EQF online credit report? Because this is the way my reaffirmed mortgage is listed on my EQF- as a negative. TU and EXP did not list it this way at all, just incl. in bk. Last Friday, 5/23 I sent TU and EXP CRRR letters asking them to list this debt as reaffirmed and as a positive tradeline. Will see what happens. If they comply and do list it as "positive" then I will tackle the the way it's listed on my EQF online report.

It is curious, though, I just received (today) a copy of my revised EQF report (the one that is sent because of disputed and updated info), and this report lists my mortgage as "Reaffirmation of Debt" but with a "status" of I(nstallment)1 which is a positive. Incidentally I had contacted the OC had they sent me a letter which I included with the two CRRR's and they also had reported that they had sent all three CRAs a similar letter.
