I received a credit report from Transunion stating account #123XXX being closed. This report is listed as "charge off as bad debt" but was actually included in bk. I am trying to get it removed from my CR. My question is the account shows - Opened 11/1995, Paid Off 04/2002, Updated 12/2003. Is this reaging my report? If so, is there anything I can do about it?
Keep this concern to one thread please. Please don't makes folks hop all over the board trying to keep up on your problem!
Not sure if it's reaging or not. When was your BK. I'm reading this as 4/02 for your BK. What is your goal here? I ask because I've also got a BK and until that is removed, there is little difference between charge off and IIB (included in BK) - they're both bad TLs that will get you flagged. If someone is looking at your app for a mortgage, you can simply show them your BK papers and they will do a "manual override".
lbrown59 | I had e-mail administration requesting a deletion of the previous message, stating it was posted twice, as soon as I noticed it was duplicated. I hadn't any intention of making people hop all over the place to read my posts. My bk was dismissed on 06/04/02 and have read on other messages that a CO is worse than a bk since it implies that it can be handed over to a collection agency. My goal is to get all the negatives off my report and then attempt go get my bk off. I know about never sending in the bk papers (thanks to this board) but I still don't understand what the updated 12/2003 means.
The updated just means that as of December 2003, the data furnisher had your account flagged to be reported to the CRA. Most reports don't 'show' the date of last activity, that is what determines the length of time that the trade line can be listed. Which means that the only real way of finding out if an account is truely re-aged is to wait until 7 years + 1 month, and if the negative information is still there, then you know that it was re-aged.
