What does it cost to connect to sewer? ............................----------------------............. The cost to connect to sewer varies depending on property location. Connection fees consist of several different parts, some or all of which may be due prior to connection of your property. These include: Permit Fees, the General Facilities Charge (GFC), the Regional Facilities Charge (RFC), a Local Facilities Charge (LFC), or a Latecomer Reimbursement Charge. These fees do not include any work that would need to be done on your property, such as laying pipe from the house to the public sewer, or abandoning the current septic system. To learn more about these fees, or to inquire about a specific property, contact the Development Review Specialist by calling (360) 750-5876 or e-mail at CHodnefield@hdsd.com. In addition, if the sewer is not immediately adjacent to your property, construction costs within the public right of way may be necessary.= =================== HD should be able to give you a copy of the receipt for payment of this along with the work order for your property. I find it very strange that HD has not provided you with any of the paperwork for any of the things I have mentioned in my post. If there is a sewer line there has to be a paper trail !!!! WHERE IS IT ????
SNAKE CAM TIME!!! It should cost no more than $50-$100 (guess) YOU WILL GET AN ANSWER...even if nobody can come up with written PROOF of the SEWER INSTALL... Doesn't there have to be PERMITS and INSPECTIONS and DOCUMENTATIONS and INVOICES???
Ok, but according to them the county was the ones who did all the work. I'm pretty sure(don't have it in front of me) that my title search showed when the county was granted an easement to do the work back in the eighties(house built in 1986.) HDSD is saying that the county divided up their district and gave different areas to different districts. Supposedly my neighborhood was turned over to HDSD in 1995 but somehow my property got deleted in the transfer. That is how they come up with making me pay for only 8 years. They don't care if anyone ever paid the county. So what I am asking is if they did not perform the work are they still required to show me the proof? Kim
Doesn't there have to be PERMITS and INSPECTIONS and DOCUMENTATIONS and INVOICES??? GEORGE ============ Sure does George. I say If H D wants to collect Let them come up with the paper trail just like we have to. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~```````````````` SNAKE CAM TIME!!! It should cost no more than $50-$100 (guess) YOU WILL GET AN ANSWER...even if nobody can come up with written PROOF of the SEWER INSTALL... George ============= I would not do this : It's helping HD validate just like it is with the CAs HD is making the claim so let them prove it.

1*Ok, but according to them the county was the ones who did all the work. 2*my title search showed when the county was granted an easement to do the work back in the eighties 3*house built in 1986 4*HDSD is saying that the county divided up their district and gave different areas to different districts. Supposedly my neighborhood was turned over to HDSD in 1995 but somehow my property got deleted in the transfer. 5*what I am asking is if they did not perform the work are they still required to show me the proof? Kim =================== 1* Doesn't matter who done the work - What matters is the party claiming the debt is the one who has to prove it. 2*Was this before or after the house was built. Any how this only included the lines installed along the righty away easement and has nothing to do with connecting lines to the houses. 3*Was this before or after the county installed the sewer system? 4*And now H D wants you to reimburse them for the money the county beat them out of back in 95. If this is what happened the county owes HD the money not you. I suggest HD go after the proper debtor. 5*Most definitely, as the party making the claim has the burden of proof.
Supposedly my neighborhood was turned over to HDSD in 1995 but somehow my property got deleted in the transfer. ************************* Any home not connected would not be part of the system so the county would not have that item to transfer to HD.
1*The Commissioners adopted a policy to charge $120.00 per connection as the assessment to all contract users of a parcel of land not in excess of 10,000 square feet. *****Has this ever been paid to HD for your house? When? by Who? IF not it's probably because your place isn't connected to their system. Make H D show you the documentation for this. Notice above says contract users this means you have to sign a contract and become a user before they can charge one for services. Notice it says user not home owner. ~~~~Here they are saying the user is responsible for payment ~~~~ The previous owner left a balance. Why are you billing me? The sewer bill is a lien against the property that has received the service, not an individual that occupied the property. *****But here the they are saying the owner is obligated to make payment~~ These 2 polices are contradicting each other>I believe this one is the one they are using in trying to justify charging you for the previous owners fees if in fact there were any such obligations. What's to stop them from collecting from both the former owner and the current user for the same period of time? How do you prove the former owner paid H D? DID he leave all his canceled checks in the garage when he moved. It's not right to demand you prove something was paid when you had no control of the account and no access to canceled checks or receipts regarding the account. 2*August 1992 staff discussed charging a $200 fine to contractors connecting homes to the sewers without obtaining a sewer permit before calling for inspections. *****Where is this permit for your house?Who was the contractor? 3*Requests for inspections can be taken only after the complete connection to the sewer line is made. Generally, inspections will be done the same day requested. This will depend on the time of day the request is received and the volume of requests requiring scheduling. *****Where is the inspection papers for your home?

Nope, haven't heard a word yet. I am keeping my mouth shut until they say something now. Then I will start asking for more info. I really want to mention to them that considering they are admitting they screwed up an account in a major way it appears that they do not keep accurate records. How am I to know that the previous owner didn't make payments and they applied them to some other account. Maybe they have a number off on an address or something. I just don't see how they can get away with this. How can they prove to me that no one has made a payment. I have no way to prove they did since she is dead!
I think this one will get ugly if they push it. thecatslai ============= What makes you think so???????????? THE END ** *** ** LB 59 """""""""```~~~```'"""""""""
If they want to force me to pay, everyone in the state of Washington who will listen will know about it. There is not one person who thinks this is fair. How can a utility come in whenever they feel like it and tell a new homeowner they owe thousands of dollars because the utility company screwed up. They should have some responsibility for their mistakes. Why should I have to pay someone else's bill because their employee deleted my address 8 years ago. I will call all TV stations, newspapers, everyone and make them look very bad. Like I said, how do I know that the previous owner didn't pay? They admit to being screw ups. Maybe they screwed up posting the payments to the right account. I have know way to go back and prove payments. I can't get cancelled checks from a dead woman. Kim
Re: Re: Real Estate Gurus need help fast IS IT 100% FACT THAT YOU ARE ON THE SEWER??? Did some neighbor witness your house being HOOKED UP??? Did you get a camera snake???
Re: Re: Real Estate Gurus need help fast Nothing new. I was at a birth all day yesterday so I don't know if they tried to call or not. Hopefully something will happen soon. Kim

Re: Re: Re: Re: Real Estate Gurus need help fast What they will do is file an Abstract of Judgment with the County Clerk in any and all counties that you may have property in. This clouds the title to any real property you own. So in order to sell, the title insurance company will make it a requirement that the judgment be satisfied before they will issue a policy - to protect the property buyer. =============== I don't know it this will help you any but accoirding to the above the title company should have caught any problems with the sewer fee it there were any.
