Okay, I blew it and applied for a Cross Country Bank (CCB) card. App recieved on 12/01/01 and approved on 12/02/01. Card supposed to arrive in 14 days, but I don't want it at all. If I call and cancel the card after receiving it, but don't activate it will that make this all go away? I don't need nor do I want the card, and to be completely honest, if I would have known it was a CCB card I wouldn't have even applied. Anyone see the fees? Account Origination Fee (one-time fee) $100 Annual Fee $50 I was only approved for $250. My credit's not that bad! I have 15k in credit ($5000 X 3 Cards) w/o a balance. I'm in CA, if it helps. Make the bad people stop. I haven't received the card yet, but I'm waiting for the stuff to hit the fan... if ya know what I mean.
I used to work for ACS they service the CCB cards. What I would do is not activate the card. I would not use it under any circumstances. "Use of card constitutes acceptance of terms and agreement." You should wait until you receive the card, cut-up and mail it back to them CRRR. In the letter, I would state that you sending it back, you had not used it. Also, I would request a letter stating the account had been closed with a 0 balance. I worked there 3 mos.in 1998. The problem I found alot of people were so happy to get the cards and would use it without reading the terms of the acct. Also, we were not trained properly so some people had no idea what they were doing. Another thing, in the letter I would be very courteous and nice. If you are nasty I can guarantee, you will have problems closing the account. Under no circumstances, should you call to close your account. Make sure you have something in writing. Always request a letter showing the account has been closed with a 0 balance.
