Pulled my husband's Equifax Beacon score and it's at 701. It has four reason codes, the last two being: 19: Too few accounts currently paid as agreed. He has five accounts listed on his report, all are listed as Pays as Agreed. There are no collections or derogs. and 8: Too many inquiries in the last 12 months. He has had ZERO inquiries on his equifax. There are a couple of PRMs but no hard inquiries at all. Anyone else have this odd stuff happening?
I have had this happen, also. I received the "too many inquiries in the past 12 months" (I didn't have any) and too many installment accounts (I have one). I wouldn't put a lot of thought into it. Look at it this way...your husband has great credit and they're making up excuses. Dani
EXPLANATION...for some STUPID REASON, everybody MUST have 4 codes... ...EVEN IF THEY DON'T MAKE SENSE, OR EVEN APPLY...
MY WIFE A CODE...something like "LENGTH OF CREDIT HISTORY"... DUHHHHHHH........... SINCE 1978................
Heh, I wouldn't doubt that GEORGE is correct on that. The reason codes are in order of importance by the way. If the last one or two doesn't apply, don't sweat it if the score is good.
Hey Mike! Yeah, but if they have invalid codes on one's account that's no different than having a false verbal record. I've not yet run into that one but it does raise the possibility of new avenues of attack in some situations. Why not just force them to get it right or take it off just like anything else? Comments from anyone please
Hey George I don't have any problem with the fact they would have to reprogram their system. That sounds like a personal problem to me. All I care about is they don't mis-represent my reports because they got a bug in their system. Not my fault
I want 100 extra points for 23 years of credit history... ...Too many accounts with balances...but still NEVER LATE...
