Last year I had a medical bill that the collection agency wanted to take me to court for. They contacted me and told me to be in court the following Monday (three days notice). I contacted the hospital, sucked up like you wouldn't believe and they let me pay the original bill to them (I wasn't researching credit repair back then, so I knew nothing about payment for deletion... live and learn). When I went to court with my receipts, the lawyer of course dropped the case against me. Now, on my credit report, it shows the debt paid but it doesn't show the hospital as the creditor, it shows the collection agency. Since I didn't pay them can it still be listed like that? I'm looking for any valid excuse to dispute...

    Thanks for all the help!!

Valid excuse? Just say Not Mine. and get on with your life for 30 days, if they verify it, you tell CRA that you paid Creditor and the Collection Agency has nothing to do with it.
