I just recieved a letter from a collection agency's attorney, in response to a complaint filed against them with the Denver BBB. stating that this debt was sent back to the OC ( peoples's Services), and they will delete the tradeline from my reports... :), but to their knowledge this debt has being reassigned to another collection agency...

This debt is for services they want me to pay,for 2 month of utilities, when I no longer living in that apartment....
My ? is this legal from the OC... because i want to be ready for it...

Can you verify that you did not live at the address for the two months that they are showing you owe? This happened to me once with a cable bill. I called them and told them to shut off the cable as of 12/31/91 and they said they would take care of it. Well 11 month later I was turned down for a Christmas loan. I made several calls. The way I got out of paying this bill was to show proof of my residence. I faxed them a copy of my utility bill that corresponded with the date that I had moved. It worked and I got my Christmas loan! Maybe you could try this. You could always say that you had called them to have the service disconnected. I know that this is lying, but all's fair in love and war!!

    Good luck.
