Hi there! i would appreciate any assistance you might be able to offer.

I am working on rebuilding my credit after a wild and reckless (financially), early 20s. Now approaching my 30's, I want to get my credit situated. After speaking with some financially savvy friends, they suggested I apply for an Orchard Bank credit card, as they are easy to get and can help to rebuild.

After being instantly approved for a $300 credit limit with a 59$ yearly fee (which will be fine to pay) on their Orchard Bank Platinum Visa card, today I am working on part two of their suggestions - to obtain a Chevron card, and if denied, with the credit rebuilder program.

Having applied for that, they simply gave me a reference number. I have read mixed information re: their instant approval process, many saying they simply respond to you by mail. Do you believe I might have been approved, or is the reference number an indicator of denial or approval for the credit rebuilder program?

Also, have I hurt my credit report by applying for two cards in two days? (one of which i was approved for?)

Any help you might be able to provide is appreciated!!
    Regards,
    Suzanne

That reference # just indicates that you applied and that they will be contacting you. Nothing really is "instant".

Yes two applications/two inquiries will hurt your credit score.

Keep inquiries to a minimum and "try" to target Equifax and Trans Union pullers. You can remove these.

Their is a database on the board which outlines who pulls what and what scores usually obtain approvals.
