At this point in the game, I am at a loss as to how to further re-build my credit. I have a Capital 1 and Premier card with low credit limits. I did have Providian, but closed it after they jacked-up my interest rate- a rash decision which (perhaps) I am now regretting. I am thinking I need to have at least one more card - one that has a nice credit limit to show I can handle it. I am afraid to apply for too many cards - don't need the inquiries. I have quite a few derogs all due to expire in the next year, but 15 total positives (past closed accts, authorized user accounts, and satisfied loans). Should I wait until I have cleared off more derogs and then apply for a prime card ?? Are there any other sub-prime cards that offer higher limits?? Scores: Exp 627, EQ and EXP middle to high 500s.
Get another Cap 1 card. Try household bank (orchard). Retail cards.. etc. it takes time man. If all your derogs are truly about to fall off in a year, i'd suggest you try the Citibank AA BDD . My scores were suck (597) and my derogs were all from 96, and they approved me.
I have an old Citi charge-off... I don't think this will work for me. Thought about Orchard- they send me pre-apps every freakin month, but I hesitate- credit limits are so low and interest is high. My Cap1 and Premier cards are 4 years old- finally got a raise in credit limit at Cap1 last month (still pretty low though). I guess my best bet is to just wait out the derogatories... I am tired of sub-prime land.
Yeah if you are not willing to work (and pay the costs) of working subprimes, then it may be better off to just keep what you have, and wait for your derogs to fall off. Keep disputing meanwhile. I've had to dispute equifax things 8 times to get them off, but it worked. Once you get a report clean, target creditors that use that report only, and you'll be in prime heaven. good luck and be patient!
Try another cap 1 card also try planetfeed back to get your Cap 1 line increase, mr cookie will do something for you. Keep working to get them off. After it is clean up citi bank seem to be more easy then others. also xmas season is a great time to apply for a card I got 7 card from oct to dec.
