I have been working on my credit and now I have it over 600 I got approved for a 70,000 home but I still can not get a credit card without a security deposit. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried Orchard Bank? They're pretty good although the card has a $69 annual fee. When I first applied I was declined (scores trashed) but I wrote them a letter and got approved with initial credit line of $300. Cap One is also another alternative. Good luck!

Try applying at a local credit union!

I just applied at one online 2 days ago and was approved for a $1,000 Visa and a $2,000 unsecured debt consolidation loan (which I applied to my $5,000 balance on my Wells Fargo Visa card.)

My scores are about 620, but EVERYONE ELSE was either declining me, or giving little cards (i.e. target at $200 limit) - including capital one, orchard and household bank. I'm getting rid of all my 3-digit limit credit cards to keep my 2 4-digit cards.

It's my best recommendation - PLUS, your interest rate will be MUCH lower than others. It will be more like a PRIME card than sub-prime with tons of fees. My rate on this card is only 11.65% and I will eventually try to get them to lower it to lower than 10%.

However, I don't know their entire lending criteria. So, if your scores are low because of late payments, or other things besides high usage, it might not work for you. But you'll never know until you try.
