Well, I got my summons today, in California. I have 30 days to respond? My problem is this; I am leaving the country for a little over 30 days on July 2nd. Can I extend this?

Also I have spoken to the collection agency and sent them information on my financial status which is pretty much without assets and only pension as income.

Also IRS has lien on me and has deemed me "Unable to collect", so what are my choices.

By the way, I'm not rich enough to fly to exotic countries, rather only Canada and my brother is covering the cost.

You could file a Motion for Continuance.

Never, ever send a collection agency your financial's.

Did the IRS send you a notice to that effect?
