A creditor had mailed me and I sent a validation letter back at the beginning of June. Today, 3 months later, I received a validation response. The validation letter was strongly worded, and demanded a response within 30 days.

Is there a section within the FDCPA that requires a validation response with a certain timeframe?

What should my next step be? Their response was a copy of a statement from January, 09 and a copy of the original app from 1998.

    Thanks

No time frame enumerated in the FDCPA.

What type of debt is this?

If they were to file suit, they **may** have enough documentation to obtain a judgment. You could try negotiating a settlement.
