Recently I had a 30 day past due mark put on my credit due to a bill I didn't pay to Household Retails Services. Is there anything that I can try and do to have it removed now or should I wait a couple of months and try? Thanks! BlargoBoy
First of all, let me say that I had posted an answer to your question and when I hit 'submit', creditnet must have just started it's downtime. So, to repeat what I had written earlier: Dispute with CRA now. There is no reason to keep that mark on your credit report. I had 3 different Household accounts that were being reported with 30 day lates. I disputed with all 3 CRAs in Dec. Both EQ and TU deleted. EXP verified. I waited a few months, then sent statements to back up the fact that I was not late on the accounts to EXP. Accounts were updated to Never Late. Of course, the other 2 CRAs completely wiped the accounts off my credit report. Household Retail is such a large company and are so busy, you will find that they don't have the resources to verify disputes. I had a dispute 3 years ago, disputed it and it came off first try. You have nothing to lose and a deletion to gain!
