I have been looking (lurking) here for a couple of weeks and have found a lot of valuable info, directions etc. I have a need for some advice on how to start to take care of a recent CO. (BofA).(November 2006). I had the account for 7 months before becoming behind and could not catch up. I have corrected all CRA report personal information and have had some luck w/old TL's. This one is really bothering me. I have not been contacted by a CA. CR report showing Collection/Chargeoff. The account balance is $564.00 with the current balance of $ 922.00. (Guess this is with all the fee's).Should I contact the OC via snail mail and ask for a settlement? If so, how much? What could I expect with this new of a CO? Anyone had anything like this w/ BofA? Need some good advice for a REAL reality check!
If it's really bothering you as you say why dont you call them and try to work something out over the phone?
