got home today and checked my mail. One envelope, my name and address hand printed. No company name in the return address. Open it up. Saw a peice of paper with the collection agency name on it that I went thru my student loan rehab with. Thought it was a reciept or accounting statement. It was a refund for $550.00 FROM THE COLLECTION AGENCY! Guess I overpaid one payment. My rehab finished July. go figure. for a collection agency they really weren't that bad. Guess because I could pay. later.
maybe a little over a month. As soon as my rehab was up I got a letter in the mail from nelnet saying they purchased the loan or whatever. At about the same time I got my monthly letter from the CA saying they were going to deduct my payment from my checking account. I called up the CA and asked them why I had to pay them another payment if my loan had been sold. They said they hadn't been paid off yet. So I paid. Not only that but the balance on my nelnet statement is about 1000.00 less than my last statement from the CA.
