I finally got my SL rehabilitated with GA, Edfun. I pulled my CR out and all the negative TL from original lenders, Sallie Mae and Citi bank are still there. I called Edfun, but they said they canâ??t delete the TL which are not theirs!!!
I was thinking to dispute with CRA â??not mineâ?, but does not seem to work for me. Since these SL account # are my SSN. Is there any way, hope to get these TL removed?
    Thanks!

You could always try a Goodwill letter to Sallie Mae and Citi. It seems that both have been great about removing late pay info. Do a search here on Sallie Mae Goodwill and Citi Goodwill.

Contact the original lender and explain that you went thru the rehab program and ask them if they will remove the derogatory information from your report, in the 'spirit' of the rehab program which removes ALL derogatory information from the associated loans. If that doesnt work, contact the Dept of Education's Ombudsman's office to act as a liason between you and the lender (they tend to get better results very quickly). You can contact the ombudsman via the DOE website and fill out a form - be as detailed as possible in explaining what you want and why.

Try disputing Sallie Mae with credit bureaus as never late. They deleted the Sallie Mae tradelines this month for me from both Eq and Ex after disputing and TU has them "cloaked".

There is no law that says they have to take old entries from different servicers off your report. However, it seems to pay to persist.

I had the same problem with Sallie Mae and another servicer of the loans I rehabbed. Originally, an ombuds(wo)man from the Dept of ED told me that the Dept of Ed could not make them take away the entries (sorry, I don't remember the regulation, but it is not the HEA). She also said that the matter had come up and the code that governs rehab was up for review "this year" wich was 2002. I PFBed Sallie Mae anyway to try to get them to remove--no luck.

In the meantime, I disputed the other old servicer off of my report--which was easy because the servicer no longer exhists. During these disputes, I disputed Sallie Mae off TU. After a couple of months, SM mysteriously dissappeared from Exp, though they had verified with the original dispute. I'm currently disputing them with EQ.
