Reinsertion and re-ageing, HELP

Earlier this year, I successfully disputed off an old charged off credit card that was showing a listing from the OC on all three CRAs. When I disputed it with EX, it dropped off all three CRA's.
Today I checked EX and find a brand new collection from Asset Acceptance, listing the bank as OC and the following status:
    Status:
    Creditor cannot locate individual.
    It also says:
    Account History:
Creditor cannot locate individual 11/30/2003 to 11/30/2003
I am heartsick, since I'm supposed to apply for a mortgage in 3 weeks for our new home being built.
Is this a re-insertion since it was listed under OC before? Why doesn't EX list the DOLA anymore? Should I just dispute it online, or send a CMRR concerning the reinsertion? HELP!!

Its not a reinsertion. The OC, and the CA tradeline are two different animals. You need to follow the validate/dispute procedures.

When I dispute with EX, do you think it's helpful to say something about the tradeline from the OC being removed? And does anyone know how to find out what the DOLA being listed on EX? Previously, the OC tradeline was to be reported until 6/2005.

No, if they can use information against you, they will. You know nothing except some stupid CA has added an unknown acct to your report :)

Experian has gotten to be a pain...you'll have to call and ask them when it is scheduled to be removed, then backtrack 7 years.

Whew, thankfully this was removed after my first dispute. Feel like I dodged a bullet here!!

Congratulations. To make sure you don't get any really nasty surprises in the future, OPT OUT NOW!

Scum collection agencies are known to prowl in the CRA land looking for people who have real estate related inquiries in the recent past. Then they slap a bogus collection tradeline on the unsuspecting individual's report, which the victim is now forced to pay or risk his mortgage.

This has become a practice du jour for the CAs. Opting out provides a measure of protection

This is a scam and both the CRAs and the CAs are guilty.

    This is just plain crooked.
