Two small collections came back Remains at Experian _Big Suprise. The collection company generated two seperate collection accounts for the same debt-different account number and a slightly different amount. I really believe Experian is not verifyingthe details and just sends some generic notice"Is this so and so's account?" My problem was the fact that I thought it had been paid to the original creditor and it reports that He is $1 late since Jan2001. How can the account remain exactly the same with that info. If they really investigated they would have at least changed that error. I also have a 2001 credit report that shows the one debt but not the other-Would that help if I sent it in? Should I just send a letter to the collection angency offering payment for full deletion or make them validate the account? What letter in the acrchives would be best?

Also , is it legal for a single CA to split up a debt and make it two entries when it comes from the same Original creditor , the same place, the same dates etc. the only thing different is the amount and the account number. I mean hypothetically speaking ... if it is His... who cares if there is a collection of 97 for an x-ray and one for The ER. See what I mean? i do not even know what the charges are actually for?
