I have a back tax statement on m y credit report. It was paid but but now it shows up a couple of times on there. Is this bad even though its marked as satisfied and of so is there any way to remove it
While it's good that the tax lien has been updated to show it's satisfied, it's still a negative mark on your credit reports. It will continue to hurt your FICO scores. Have you tried disputing it in writing through the CRAs yet?
No I haven't yet. I was just trying to see my options. I see my score has dropped since I have been paying things off. Who would I write to?
Write to each of the major CRAs and dispute something that's inaccurate regarding the entries. If they come back verified, you may just need to live with the paid tax liens on your credit reports until they fall off. They'll continue to have less of an effect on your scores as time passes, so it's not like they will destroy your scores forever.
