    Hello All-

I have a $1000 unpaid c/o from 1995 from American Pacific Bank, which is now owned/operated by Household/Orchard/Renaissance. After dealing with them for weeks and even writing to the CEO's office, they refuse to unrate the c/o for either a full or partial payment. Their guidelines (which originally started out as "the law says...") do not let them change a rating unless their is proof of an error.

The c/o will fall off my credit report in 4/2002, so at this point it is not a make-or-break situation, but does anybody have any other suggestions on how to get it removed earlier? It's my understanding that a paid settlement or a fully paid charge-off will not make that much difference on my FICO socre. True? False? Any help would be appreciated.
