I'm filling out forms for bankruptcy. 7 years ago I put my daughter on one of my accounts, to help her establish credit. A year or so later I had her taken off my account, as she had her own account. I assumed it was done. But, she got a credit report of her own - good idea - and it turns out she still has that account listed under her name. How do I go about getting her name off that account, especially as I don't want the bankruptcy to affect her?
I don't know if that will be enough. Before filing bk, call company go through written procedure of taking daughter off acct & get written confirmation that she is not on the acct & not responsible so she can use that letter with the bureau to have the acct removed.
