I'm starting my BK7 removal with TU, this has been discharged since 2000. I disputed the (public record)BK7 online last week and today I got a letter from them that says the following:
    -----------------------------------------------------------
"Our records show that your creditor(s) previously verified as accurate the items that are listed below. Therefore, under the FCRA, we consider this dispute frivolous and we will not re-investigate the item(s) unless you can provide court papers or a recent, authentic letter from the creditors that explains what information should be updated."

"If you disagree with the results of your dispute, you may add a consumer statement of 100 words or less to your credit report or you may contact the creditor directly. The name and adresses are listed below:"

    XXXX FED CRT XXXX
    ACCT # XXXXX
    -----------------------------------------------------------
What should be my next course of action? I would appreciate any help from anyone. Thanks.

not trying to be judgemental, but i guess you gave it a good try, and did you really think it would work? did you dispute the accts. that were involved in your Bk? i would think getting those cleaned up would be helpful first.

It was my first attempt to remove the BK7, yes there are 5 accounts linked with it....I will take you advice and try to go after those accounts first then the public record. Anyone else have any advice? Doc? LKH?

Sorry, I'm just a newbie, but I have a high interest level because I'm currently in the midst of "cleaning" accounts from my BK7 in 1/97.

It won't be a big deal come 1/04, but I want to apply for a vehicle loan this summer or fall. My problem is most of the accounts said "charge-off" with no mention of BK. That's definitely wrong and requires a lot of explaining if a loan officer asks about it.

Do yours just say "Included in BK" ? That's the best case UNLESS as I've seen in my limited time on these boards, you simply first dispute as "not mine", the OC fails to validate and the CRA deletes.

I actually had that happen on about 3 or 4 of my 19 creditors from the BK.

If you can't get them deleted, at least they should say "Included in Bankruptcy". Most of mine had charge-off removed and "Included in Bankruptcy/Never Late" put on, which I'm happy with until 1/04 !.

Re: Re: Removing BK 7 with TU

Thanks for replying, I have a total of 5 accounts "included in BK". I just submitted a dispute online as "not mine". We'll see where it goes from there. I'm hoping 2 or 3 gets deleted. From reading previous posts, certain OC will be difficult at first. I will just be persistent with my quest.

Anyone else have anymore feedback on how to tackle this problem?
