I want to close an account that I opened in December...is it too new to ask the CRA's to remove it from my report. It's always been paid on time for more than the minimum. I want to pay it off with one of my other lower interest cards. Does this sound silly?

Hi Flagirl. I don't think you should even worry about removing this from your report. It will not hurt you, but it won't help you either. I think it will just be considered unrated as there is not enough history to use it in any FICO scoring model.

Close it, pay it off, have it reported CLOSED AT CONSUMER'S REQUEST, BALANCE $0, NEVER LATE.

I think UNRATED is only the first month...
