last year (when i started my credit journey), i had a bunch of old addresses removed (most were not mine). i just bought a house this summer (thank you CNetters!!). how soon can i have the CRAs remove my previous address? or is it not possible since they probably have on file somewhere that i had the others removed and verified the last one as the correct address?
It all depends on who you happen to get when you call in, I've never gotten one of the reps who will delete the old addresses... grrrrr... (Well, at least with the company who tries to maintain a whole list of them.) From what I've seen, they won't allow you to delete an address as long as anyone is reporting it, so you need to make sure that you tell everyone who is reporting that your correct address is xxxxx, and that is what they must use for credit bureau reporting.
