I broke a lease and found a replacement tenant, who signed a new lease, but he has not made first months payment yet, can the landlord come after me? or as long as lease was signed by him, i am off

This may vary from state to state, but I know for a fact that here in Iowa, once a new tenant takes occupancy, the landlord can no longer hold you liable under your lease.

This, of course, assumes that the new tenant signed his own, normal, lease. If you just sublet it to him, you're still on the hook.
