I decided to term a rental lease five months before lease was due.
I gave them the requiered 60 days notice and paid the rent during those 60 days. And now they are saying that I have to pay the remaining of the lease. Because I did not walk my apartment checklist with an lease agent prior to turning in my keys.

Now this is affecting my credit.
    Can anyone advise?

Are they claiming that in writing? Was your notice in writing?

Are they claiming they want payment for damage to the apartment, or just for the remainder of the lease? Does your lease contract include a termination clause?
