Has anyone had success with reopening a closed Providian account? I closed it because they were going to raise the rates, even tho i was never late with any payments! Since closing the accounts, I have paid them both off completely, and have never been late. Would a nice letter to Providian work? The only info I could find about this (after doing a search) was for accounts that did have 1 or 2 late pays. Mine didnt have ANY. thanks.
This is going to sound like a dumb question, but why would you want to reopen it (especially if they've already had the itch to jack your rate sky high)?
Now that I have them paid off, it doesnt matter what the interest rate is because I will only use them if i really need to and I'll pay them off each month before they can charge interest. (ya know, the way CCs are supposed to be used--lol) This way, since both TLs are over 3 years old, I'll have two more open & positive TLs which will hopefully get my scores up.
