I have been lurking and finally today signed up. This site has wonderful information and I have taken the time to read many messages etc. So, if I am asking questions already addressed, I am sorry. I have a discharged chapter 7 and received my equifax credit report (will do others later). Some of the debts list that they were included in bankruptcy, some say, charge off account, account involved in chapter 13, and then they list collection agency accounts. All of the items on my equifax credit report were included in the chapter 7, even the ones that were transferred etc., but how do I get things listed correctly as all under chapter 7. All the debts are mine, I am not trying to say they are not mine, but for instance, my car is listed as included in bankruptcy and I have continued to make payments and did not have to reaffirm, because the court denied the agreement and said to just continue paying if I want the car. So, what I want to do is get everything that should say included in chapter 7 to say that. Or is that wrong?
Just go online at credit.equifax.com. You can enter the report number given to you on the equifax report. Do an online investigation and dispute the accounts as "included in chapter 7 bankruptcy". I had the same problem and all the accounts were reported correctly after I disputed them.
Christi, Thank you for the information and I have just finished with equifax. Earlier today I ordered a 3 in 1 and now Ineed to do the same for TU and Experian. Is it the same process - I had to use a confirmation number with the experian one which I had, but I do not have one for the 3 in 1 file. my thanks. barbara
