Here's a really quick question. Can a car be repossessed after a validation letter has been received by the loan company? Bobbi
Every state has different statutes when it comes to repossession of a vehicle. You should really check your local statutes as it is fairly common for your rights to be violated. I don't mean this to be facetious, but as for validation, if you have a car and owe on the loan, are you really disputing the debt is valid?
No, I was just getting my ducks in a row to have it removed, it was purely coincendental that it happened this way. Thanks for the input. Bobbi
I would dispute it anyway - it may very well not be verified within 30 days and drop. Also check the statutes and make sure your rights were not violated. If you owe more on the car than it is worth, expect they will try to collect any deficiency after the car is auctioned. In most states you have a period of time to "Buy Back" the vehicle, and you can also bid on it at the auction. Good Luck.
Yep, that's what the plan was. Oh well, I just want to get past this and move on. This was the last of the bad stuff to happen. Thank you for all of your help. Bobbi
