Hello again, I have a question about a repossession. First some background, I bought a car while I was stationed in Ft. Meade for some schooling after I graduated I got orders to Japan so I left the car with my family in Florida and set up an allotment to pay the car note. Well, my family moved out of state and couldn't't take the car so they called the car company and told them to come get it. After they got the car I stopped the allotment and it was listed on my credit report as a voluntary repossession. I discovered this site and started to repair my credit and sent the loan company a Val letter they sent back the contract I signed and a copy of my Learners permit ( I had no Lisc when I got the car but the salesman told me it was fine) and my military ID. They also sent the notice of repossession and Intent to sell. I never received these things in Japan even though I left my address with the company. They just sent another letter that states they are going to review my file for possible actions to recover the deficiency (sp?) which has risen to 2000.00 dollars above the original loan amount. I guess my questions are was this a legal repo? The person who called them did not have a power of atty. or any authority to have the car repossessed . Also can I ask them (OC) for a payment history since they are the OC and they still have the account? What should my next step be? I know about the UCC but I don't know how it applies to a Vol. repo. Oh and the car was bought in Aug of 99 repoed on 02 Mar 00 and sold on 18 Apr 00. Thanks in advance SL
