Back in December I received a letter from a CA for some piddly $16 bill which I do not have any idea where it came from. I promptly sent them a validation letter via registered mail with return receipt. (I have the green card that returned). Never heard a reply now I see a derog show up on Experian (I assume the others will soon follow).

What is my remedy? I assume they are in violation of the FCRA rules. I have had REPEATED problems with the same agency and would like to really put the hammer on them.

Can someone please advise my on what to do with this. It REALLY rocked my score!

    Thanks.

I'd run down to the courthouse and file on them for continued collection activity after requesting validation.

Then offer to settle for deletion of the TL in lieu of damages.
