First you need to pull your ChexSystem report, just like a credit report. You should be able to get it for free sonce you were denied an account. Request the exact reason you were denied an account from the institution; then check your report for that tradeline. Dispute the tradeline with ChexSystem, as you would with a credit reporting agency.
I already have the report from Chexsystem. Should I DV Chex first or OC (bank) first? I have seen it recommeded both ways. Thanks
I would dispute, not "DV", with ChexSystem. You can ask the original bank for the details of the disputed information. But the system requires a dispute (first) through the reporting agency (ChexSystem).
