I filed for Chapter 7 back in November of 2001. How long can I expect to see references to the bankruptcy on my accounts from that time or on the "Public Records" section of my credit reports?

    Thanks for your time.

"Cases under title 11 [United States Code] or under the Bankruptcy Act that, from the date of entry of the order for relief or the date of adjudication, as the case may be, antedate the report by more than 10 years."

In other words, ten years from either of those two events.

Does the 10 year rule apply to just the "public records" section or does it also apply to the various tradelines that were discharged?

The ten year reporting applies to the BK public record. The rest of the tradelines should fall off at the same time as if no BK was filed.
