Everything was identical except for the bankruptcy removal and rather than score going up it went down. Experian created their creditexpert score for their online credit report service. It resembles a fico score, but uses only a few of the different data types a fico score uses. The Experian Creditexpert score is in most cases over or under a true fico score by anywhere from 10 to 100 pts. It is much the same as the Trans Union fako score. You can go to TU's site and order the TU proprietary score and also order the TU fico score. You'll see an amazing difference. This is straight from the Experian site: The Experian credit score is provided to help you better understand how lenders view your creditworthiness. As your data on your credit report changes, it is normal to see fluctuations in your score. understanding the score factors may be more meaningful than the actual score itself. Your score is not an endorsement or a determination of your qualification for a loan. Each lender has specific underwriting standards, so you should not assume that you will receive the same evaluation from each lender. As part of the underwriting process, lenders will incorporate additional information you provide and may obtain references. The Experian credit score is calculated based on many of the same criteria utilized by banks, mortgage lenders, and loan companies and therefore closely approximates the typical consumer credit score that is used to determine creditworthiness.
