We all know Amex reps are authorized to override computer-generated denials. Does anyone know other credit card companies whose reps have similar authority ? Saar
RE: Reps authorized to overrid sure... Capital One. I had requested a credit limit increase and they said NO. Two weeks later when I decided to close my account, they immediatley offered a higher credit limit.
RE: Reps authorized to overrid Thanks, but that is not the same. I'm not talking about retention officers improving EXISTING account terms. I'm talking about reps who are authorized to review a denial of application for credit card, and override it. Saar
RE: Reps authorized to overrid I suppose every bank has got officers who are in position to do so, though I'd doubt very much if any of the reps would be given this authority. My own experience in attempting this with various banks and department stores either by phone or by correspondence has (with the sole exception of a case involving a CRA) met with no succes.
