Hello folks I am having problems with this whole credit repair idea. I know that I started firing validation letters out to original creditors with not so great results. I know I know OC's are not regulated under FDCRA or something like that. Well my dilema is I do not have Email access at home so the hurried reading I get in is done at work. So what I was wondering is if there is someone who has a sucessful track recrd who would be willing to review my credit reports and make educated recommendations for letters and what not.. I already lost money to Bill Bauer at Credit Wrench....he was the one who told me to send validation letters to everyone. Please if someone who is SUCESSFUL would be willing to review my files and coach me please contact me. Thank you...I think my credit already cost me a job opportunity with the Government.

Have you had a chance to look at Psychdoc's credit repair primer and the FAQ? Both of those threads will give you a good idea where you need to start.

Also, is it possible for you to use a friends computer or go to the library so that you can read through the old threads at your leisure. I'm sure you'll many good strategies and success stories.

    Good Luck with your efforts!

    TeamSobaco,

I'm feeling for ya, TeamSobaco, but I have to say I don't think it's right for you to summons and request the personal services of Doc in this manner. He's a willing and voluntary participant and it's just expecting too much on a public message board to go beyond that. Doc surely doesn't need me defending him, I just felt the need to type it.

Having sent validation letters to everyone isn't necessarily a bad thing, if they even know they aren't obligated to respond -- some do, some don't. I don't think it will hurt you -- have you disputed with the CRA's after their non-response?

Instead of requesting validation pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) ask for verification under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) under the provisions for the duties and responsibilities of information furnishers.

I can't comment on CreditWrench's services, though I follow his postings and threads and have read what he's posted here and on other message boards. The truth is I didn't think he strayed too far from most of the methods and processes recommended here, at least as a starting point. If I'm recalling correctly, he's offered refunds previously to anyone not happy with his services.

There are other services available if you're willing to pay for them and don't have the time or access to pursue the process for yourself. I've not used any of them so I can't make a recommendation either way, only that they are available, Lexington and Pre-paid legal are coming to mind. There's previous postings about them here if you want to know the experiences others have had.

The FAQ is priceless even if you're not limited on time. I know the library's here have free internet access as does the local community college.

    Sassy

Re: Requesting One on One Help (Doc

LOL, not only am I unqualified to offer one-on-one assistance, I have no extra time to do so anyway. :( Sorry -- I wish I could help.

(I wish I could help you, alas, but regardless I'm sure you'll solve your CRA troubles sooner than you think given your participation here!)
