Is this a typical courtesy letter or a sign that they will not investigate my dispute?

The items I disputed included some erroneous former addresses, a collection account from a company I've never heard from, and a collection account I show as being paid. The letter I just got from them says they received my request to investigate and gives names and addresses of all my creditors including the disputed ones. It does not say that they are working on the investigation.

    Thanks!

They said they will not investigate or they received your dispute on those? If this is basically stating they received it, they are just confirming that they have the information are then now investigating it. If they state, we recieved your stuff and we deem it frivilous or it was already verified previously, then its saying tough luck try again.

All they said was thanks for contacting us and the information below is in response to your request. The "below information" was the list of creditors. They did not say they were or were not investigating. I sent an email to them last night about it but haven't gotten a response yet. Thought maybe someone here had run into this before. I'm guessing this is their way of saying they aren't going to investigate.

    Thanks!
