Response From TU? Proof of Address

    I sent them the below letter. They are now asking from proof of address. 2 pieces from their list. Should I provide it or is it a stall tactic?

    Subject: Credit Report Dispute


    1. In reviewing that attached credit bureau report issued by your agency, I have detected errors regarding the following accounts in that is reported inaccurately.

    2. Company Name: Allianceone Rec Mgt Spec
    IBO/Credit Account: xxxxxx

    3. Under the provision set forth in the 1977 Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, I hereby request that your agency prove to me in writing that accuracy of the reporting of this account. Under the terms of the Act and succeeding court cases, you have 30 days to prove such accuracy or remove the account entirely from my report and I ask that you do so.

    4. You will note that this letter was sent by certified mail and that I expect a response within the said 30-day period. Should I not hear promptly from you I will follow up within whatever actions is necessary to cause my report to be corrected.

    5. Enclosed is a copy of my drivers license which shows my authority to make this request.

    It would seem to me that a copy of your DL with the correct address would be sufficient. What else do they want?

    Nice productive letter! :) (P.s) could you also send this letter format to equifax or experian too?
