Responsible party for medical bill

    Hi,

    If a person is listed as the responsible party on the paperwork for a medical treatment/visit/hospitalization/test for their spouse, can they collect the money from the spouse who was the patient?

    Does responsible party mean that they are the ONLY person who is responsible for the bill??

    A competent adult can be billed for their own medical treatment.
