Hi all, well I just got the results of my first dispute. I disputed 7 derogs with EX. Here's how it reads on the results summary...

    Summary of Investigation Results

    PARK DANSAN
    Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx Outcome: Updated

    CREDIT CONTROL SERVICE
    Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx Outcome: Updated

    GULF STATE CREDIT LLC
    Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx Outcome: Deleted

    GULF STATE CREDIT LLC
    Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx Outcome: Updated

    WARREN PROPERTIES INC
    Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx Outcome: Remains

    SOUTHWEST COLLECTION S
    Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx Outcome: Deleted

    PROGRESSIVE MGMT SYSTE
    Account Number: xxxxxxxxxx Outcome: Updated

    My questions are,
    1) What's the difference between the 'Remains' and 'Updated' result? They both stay on my report, right?

2)What does 'Updated' mean? Does it mean that it verified, and that it can not be removed?

    3) The ones that 'Updated', how do I get rid of those? Of the 4 that 'updated' I know that I've paid, at least, two of them, maybe all.

Should I re-dispute those updated ones right away, or wait the requisite 3 months? Or, should I send validation letters to the OC or the CA?

Thanks everybody for all of your help and guidance. If it weren't for finding this place, it never would've occured to me that my credit reports might have erroneous info. I know, how naive am I? :)

@@@Remains means the item was verified as yours and will stay on the report.

2)What does 'Updated' mean? Does it mean that it verified, and that it can not be removed?

@@@Updated can mean a lot of things. If you disputed as never late, it could mean the prior paying history has been updated. Or it could mean the OC or CA changed a date or balance on the account. It will stay on your report though.

    3) The ones that 'Updated', how do I get rid of those? Of the 4 that 'updated' I know that I've paid, at least, two of them, maybe all.

@@@You can always dispute them again.

Should I re-dispute those updated ones right away, or wait the requisite 3 months? Or, should I send validation letters to the OC or the CA?

@@@I would send the validation letters out now. As soon as the CAs receive them, dispute again and see if they verify. If they verify and don't list the item in dispute, you have them in a violation.

Thanks, Disputer. Now, for the paid/collection items, which validation letter should I send?

If you already disputed a paid collection (in other words, dispute it first), and it remained, then try the nutcase letter.

Look in the unofficial FAQ on this site for samples of the nutcase letter... you'll be able to customize it to suit your specific situation.

I'm gonna send the nutcase letter, because I just noticed that the CAs tradeline is wrong. It says that it was legally paid for less than the full amount, which is not true. Re the nutcase letter.. Is this line necessary?

"I have enclosed two documents which will verify my address: a photocopy of a [YOUR STATE] Driverâ??s License and a photocopy of a recent [NAME OF UTILITY OR TELEPHONE COMPANY] statement."

If it is, will other documents suffice?
