In a thread about Dillard's cards, it was mentioned that it seems to be a trend that retail cards aren't reporting credit limits. So I thought I'd go through my reports and see which stores report limits and which don't. Please add other stores so we know who reports limits and who only reports high credit. This is only for the store cards, NOT for the ones that are MasterCard or Visa. These are the stores that DO report the credit limit: Belk, Bloomingdale's, Burdine's, Fashion Bug, JC Penneys, Macy's, The Bon Ton. Lane Bryant reported limits on Experian, not on Equifax, and nothing on TU. But it's a very old account, so this may not be accurate. Sears reported limits, only shows on Equifax. Is now a MasterCard reporting on all three, so that doesn't count according to my definition. Anyone have a straight Sears card to see if they report limits? These are the stores that DO NOT REPORT LIMITS, ONLY HIGH CREDIT: Dillard's, All of the May Company stores that I have (Foley's, Hecht's, Lord and Taylor, and Robinson's May. Feel free to add on. These aren't all current but are cards that are on my report.
Funny about Target Guest. My Target Guest reports correctly on TU, as well as my Marshall Fields. They both report only High Credits on Equifax. They both report my old credit limits on Experian. I just recently sent in dispute to both EQ and EX. Experian says they wont accept the letters from the Target Corporation with my credit limits on them as proof of my limit. Wonder if it's not Target and Fields, but EQ & EX?
JC Penney Card, Old Navy Card, Gap Card, AE Clear Card, Sams Club Credit, Sears Card, Best Buy, CompUsa report credit limit. Ron.
From my own report-- as noted above--- Nordstroms & Sears always report credit limit. From observation-- Barneys only reports highest used. Banana Republic reports credit limit. I closed all of my dept stores (I had a ton) several years ago. Back then, they ALL reported credit limits. Must be a new trend. Good riddens. I kept Nordstroms bc they are wonderful (low APR, frequent increases) I kept Sears for sentimental (and FICO) reasons (1st card)
