Does anyone know what companies this bank does business with???

I have three hard inquiries dated 1/31/03, 2/13/03, and 2/17/03 from Retailer National Bank and I want to know who they deal with and why they are pulling my report so many times.

BTW - this is on my Equifax report and my score is going crazy with all of these hard pulls!!! :-(

OK...so this sorta makes sense...I applied for the Target card online 1/31/03...that takes care of one inquiry...whats about the other two? Why are they pulling my report so many times???

Did you get the Target card or did you get denied?

After a very long drawn out process...I was denied.

I called customer service to check the status of my application because I couldnt get instant approval...more information was needed. I called customer service a couple of days later and a woman in new accounts told me they couldnt verify my address...(I moved in October)...she told me to wait for the letter explaining more info was needed and to fax the letter...a copy of my DL, SS card and a recent utility bill. So I did so on the day I received the letter. After a couple of days I called again and after being transferred to a thousand departments the woman put in the correct info...she ran it through the computer and it came back denied. I specifically asked her if this was going to pull my credit report again and she said no that it was already pulled on the day of initial application. The last time I spoke to anyone there was Thursday of last week.

Ouch. You may want to call again (see the # below). Ask for a supervisor right away, they should be able to tell you about the inqs. If not, ask for their supervisor.

Targetâ??s financial services direct number: 888-316-6145 (7am-Midnight, Central Time).

First things first...I finally got a person over there who knew what she was talking about! I immedialtely asked for a supervisor and was transferred...Charlene was very helpful...turns out I wasnt denied after all! LOL!!! After all of this! I was approved for a $200 CL! She said the approval went through on 2/17/03 which was the date of the third pull. (things that make ya go HMMM!!!)

Ok so back to my original problem...she said she could find no reason why my report was pulled for a second time and wasnt showing a third pull on her end...she said it might not have been updated yet. She even called in her sup. to look over the account and both of them couldnt come up with a reason.

She gave me an address to dispute the extra inquiries. She told me to write a letter explaining everything I had told her and it shouldnt be a problem getting them removed.

WOOHOO!!! Now I have the Target Guest card to add to my little list of post BK credit builders!!! :)

Thanks again for your help!!! :)

Congratulations on the new card! Retail cards are a lot of fun to have...and use occasionally.

Target pulled a hard inquiry on me, just for using the phone system to ask for what I thought would be an automatic limit increase. Result: hard inquiry, no limit increase.

Target is a good credit-builder type of card, but I don't have any high hopes for the future. It's a lot easier to get limit increases from full-price department stores like Macy's.

I have had my Target card for 3 years....never got a limit increase. Kept using the automated thing and always was denied. I got fed up and I asked the rep to find out what I need to do to get an increase. I was never late and had a great history with them. She was very nice and got her supervisor to give me an override and she gave me a $100. increase. They can be helpful...when they want to be!

$100 after 3 years? Thats even worse than Crap1, lol

I never pushed the issue before that time. They said the reason I had not been getting the increases before is because of adverse info on my credit report. Those items are in dispute. They said in 6 months I will get another oppertunity for CLI. I was ok with it. I keep less than $100 on it but, I still wanted a higher limit than $200. When I got the card I had great credit I had problems a few months after.

Also if you fall behind at all they immediatly don't seem to have any problem lowering your CL!

    Happened to me!

I hope to never have that happen with any bill ever again. I would sooner die! Does anyone know if they still covert the guest cards to Target Visa's???

Wouldnt mind converting my card, but not sure if they will do it. I heard you have to go into the store to request it. Doesnt seem like it should be the only way to do so.

I am ooing to call customer service. Seems to me credit card is better than revolving anyday and you can use it anywhere they take visa. I'll post the result if I can get through.

Rats....they said that they won't just convert it. You either need to apply onlint at target.com or go into the store. I don't need another inq. I am leaving it alone.
