Next month I'll be eligible for a line increase from cap. one. Do you guys think I should give them a ring at the retention #, or PFB Mr. Cooke next month ? The account will be 11 months old , and 6 months since my last increase , next month so im going to go after another. There have been NO lates, payments always over the minimum. Im hoping they'll increase my limit by at least $3-500. When I opened the account I had to send in $49 for a $200 limit, on March 10th they raised it to $300. I called the # on the back of the card and asked for a increase. Hopefully next month they'll raise the limit by more than a freakin $100. So what would you do , PFB or retention # ?

Newbie here... can you help me understand this one? I have two Cap1 accounts (500 and 300) and called yesterday to get LOC increases. They said no on the fact that I was a day late in paying one of the accounts. Can you clue me in on how to get ahold of Mr. Cooke, and what/who he is? Also, what is PFB?

    Thanks for your help!

That happened to me once with my first card with them. I was a day late till I figured out they had an online system.

I PFB'd him and asked for the increase after 6 months. I told him in the letter why I was a day late and what I had done to be certain it wouldnt happen again.

He gave me 100% increase no problem.

I dont waste the effort on CS or retention, I go to Mr. Cooke. Be upfront with him and he will be up front with you.

Maybe that's why I couldn't get an increase. It's been a day late a couple of times, until I started paying online. He couldn't give me an increase w/ out an inquiry at this time, but I'm going to wait til Oct, my 2 yr anniversary w/ Cap one, and I'll try again. He never mentioned being late to me though. HMMM. I think it's been a couple of days late, twice, I think.

Well Mr Cooke let me down, I am at my 6 months and ask for a increase but got told No ,he did lower my rates. I call Cap 1 and did the Auto-line credit increase I got 200,so I say try mr Cooke ,if you get no try there auto-phone line increase.
