I need some advice on an issue that is keeping me awake at noght. Yesterday I recieved a call from Riddle and Associates- a law firm representing NCO Portfolio Management- re: A CitiBank account from 1997. The guy I talked to didn't know a whole lot about the account, he gave me the balance $4000 approx and said there was also $4000 in interest. Said they would take $4000. He couldn't give me DOLA or anything else about the account. He told me that if it were him he would request validation. The wierd thing is, he called me at home, the number I have had since 1998, but said that I had been sent info at an address I only lived at for 2 months in 1994! If they can get my current #, why not my current address? Seems like they are doing it so that they can come back and say "well we sent her the info, not our fault if she didn't get it" I don't want to give them my new address because I don't want to get harrassed by them, plus NCO pulled my credit in 2000, so they should have a more recent address. Has anyone ever heard of this ploy? Thanks Sorry so long Larissa
Wow!! I think I would say "you must have the wrong person. You should get the phone number for that address and call that person. If you knew who you were looking for, you would have the right address."
True. He did have my social though, and my married name and part of my maiden name (it is too long apparently) When I lived at the address they are sending stuff to I was not married, but when he called he asked for me by my married name. Seems really wierd to me. Larissa
