For everyone who is dealing with Risk Management Alternative /RMA or has in the past, I thought this would be of interest. http://www.classactionamerica.com/cases/case.asp?cid=1034
Wow, that's interesting, sounds like what Citifinancial is doing to me, reporting it 3 times each account.
Doodyhead You need to report them to the OCC (Comptroller of the Currency) and the BBB. They can't report a One account Two or Three time..!! They are in violation FCRA..!! I too have had troubles in the past with a bank!! Word of Wisdom..... if they are not willing to work with you and you are right! Report them to the OCC..!!! This will get them on their toes...!!!! It Worked for ME.. ;-)
How can I contact them? Does this sound wrong to you, Two different accounts reported 2x (different account #'s BUT same balances) Should I report them? Does this sound wrong to you? LOOKS wrong to me.
Let me ask you a few question... First off.. Are the accounts in good standing or charged off? How many accounts do you or did you have with them? Have you contacted citi about this? EX. If you only had one account with them. BUT.. they are listing you have two accounts that are charged off? This is wrong!
I had two accounts with them, they are charged off. BUT they are reporting THOSE 2x each, PLUS there is a Com'l credit entry (same accounts) sooo that makes 3x each.
If you had two accounts that are charged off. Then CITI should ONLY report Those Two Accounts. Nothing more nothing less. I would right Citi about this. Make sure you keep copies and send everything CRR (I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH). If CIti refuses to delete or correct the Multiple Listing. Then My next step would be taking my paper trail ;-) and reporting them to the OCC! **If a CA has it then they can report it as well. The OCC can do nothing about that when it comes to a CA. ***I suggest you contact Citi.... Inform citi all of those accounts they have listed do not belong to you!! If the truth is known... When a company multiplies one account into two or three they have turned those account into fraudulent accounts. ....PLAN and SIMPLE!!!! THEN..... Write to the CA and let them know they are holding a fraudulent account. This will take care of the CA for a short time until Citi gets the records straight with you! Depending on how old the charge off is.. you may get a total deletion IF you play your cards right....!! ;-) Good Luck
Oh this is awesome. These jerks have my ameritech collections from the final phone bill that was with my ex hubby when we sold our house. The phone was in my name only and he never gave me the bill to a tune of 453 bucks. These jerks have me down for two ameritech collections of 453 and 454 respectively with the same dates but different account numbers. This was in 1996 and Junum has been trying to dispute them currently in round 2 but now I have more amunition. I knew these were duplicate but I didn't want to contact Risk management because I wanted to dispute them both. Thanks for this info
Doodyhead: Your reference to the OCC is very interesting. In what way do you see that OCC has anything to do with debt collection? I just went over to the sight and poked around a bit and didn't see what you apparently saw. Fill us in, please. Might prove very useful indeed.
Excuse me. I thought it was you. Let us hope she can. I think she may be on to something very interesting. We will just have to see.
Hi Guys.. Sorry for the Delay... I have been very busy..!! I hope this is what you guys are asking!! Ok....The OCC Can NOT Regulate Any Collection Agency. The OCC is here to regulate Banks. If I am not mistaken... Citi Fin. is a Bank. Doody.. is stating that he had two accounts with CITI. BUT... CITI is placing that he has four. This is Wrong !! Two doesn't belong to him and that makes two of them FRAUDULENT ACCOUNTS... He Can Write to CITI and let them know that those accounts do not belong to him they are fraudulent...!!!! He can/needs to go about it in this manner..!!! If Citi bank Doesn't' correct their mess .... then the OCC will be more than happy to obliage. **** He needs to let them know that.... "His next step is with the OCC... b/c of stress and aggravation..etc.. etc..etc..!! NOT only is he suffering from their mistake BUT...he is also having to deal with CA to top it all OFF..... and those accounts do not even belong to ME...!!" ;-)**** BEFORE you mail your letter to CITI... Send it to the BBB first then make sure you let them know you have already sent a copy of the same letter to BBB. Now about the CA.... He can either demand CITI have all accounts removed from his Credit Report including what the CA has reported. Which they probably will.. if he puts the strain on them.. !! They Don't wont the OCC on their A$$!! They are sick b/c you contacted the BBB...They will probably bend over backwards at this point..lol..!! OR...Once he goes to work on CITI.. and they don't send anything to the CA ..... He can send the Collection Agency copies of what he wrote to CITI... Let them know that the accounts CITI has are being disputed as fraudulent accounts AND he is Demanding Deletion or he is going to sue them as well..!!! I hope this is what you guys are asking... and It makes sense... ;-) OK.... gotta go... If I don't get back with you guys tonight... I will in the morning..... ;-)
Martysgirl: Ok! All that you say makes a WHOLE LOT of sense to me. Do you know if the OCC has an online complaint form that can be used or not and if so can you give us the url? BTW, the BBB complaint can be filed on line and it is easily as effective as letter writing.
Bill.. Sorry again for the Delay :-( If there is a form to use, I'm not aware of it. When I wrote to the OCC, I sent my entire story along with the proof/copies showing that I had tried to work it out with the bank with NO luck! I will research some today! If I come up with anything I will let you know ;-)
