Got a letter from them saying:
    "We are your new creditor"
    Also says:
"RJM Acquisitions LLC is not a collection agency."

On the back, however, there is a disclaimer:
"This is an attempt to collect a debt........"

The account is showing up under Collection section
under credit report. OC has it charged-off as R9.
It was BofA card. Is it pretty common practice?

These idiots better re-read the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act again. According to the FTC they ARE a debt collector as defined by FDCPA, regardless of whether they bought the account or are just working it.

The FDCPA CLEARY states that anyone who buys a "defaulted" debt is a debt collector. It's in the beginning somewhere. It's only 25 pages so reread is a couple of times.

Don't be fooled by them in fact you already have one violation right there.

    What does BCollector mean?

Or in the case of an Umloud:

    SSCollector?

Typical for RJM from what I've read. They are a 3rd party debt collector.
