I requested validation from RJM and they sent me back a form to fill out called a notification of dispute and want a copy of my drivers license or social security card / something with my sig on it. Do I fill this form out or send them another letter restating my needs. Their thirty days will be up on May 13th and they have already verified this account with EX.

    1. Did they verify the account after they received your validation? Did they mark it in dispute? If not, that is a violation.

    2. Ask yourself this...they say you owe $$. You want proof, yet they want you to send them the proof?

Just proceed with the validation sequence as if you never received this letter. Never never provide them anything with your signature on it.

In their reply they say they marked it in dispute but on my experian report it does not have that notation.

I dealt with them and won.

    1. Don't send back anything with your signature or personal information to them.

    2. I agree with LB59 make your next letter on the 13th the estoppel letter sent CRRR.

    Leo,

    Here is what happened:

    1) I sent the standard validation letter, CRRR.
No response from them in 30 days

    2) I sent the estoppel letter to them, CRRR.
They replied in about 10 days with what they thought was validation (it was just a document that they made in Word). They also included the stuff you talked about.

    3) I sent them a strongly worded letter, CRRR that stated that their purported validation was insufficient by federal and my state law and that they had violated the law and my civil rights. It went on to say that they had 10 business days to remove the tradeline from my credit report(s) or I was going to sue them.

    4) They sent me a letter stating that they were going to delete the tradeline- they did a few days later.

    Good Luck!
