I've got two accounts listed with RMA
one is still within the SOL, the other is not.
    each RMA branch is different.
If I validate the one that is still in the SOL and they decide to get a judgement, where would they get the judgement? they are in Georgia or something and I am in Texas. (always have been)
I fear getting a summons to appear in Georgia or something crazy like that.

the other one is scheduled to fall off in 4 months, should I just leave it be?

I've got a 3rd RMA collection, but that one falls off next month..so not worried about it. (the one they screwed me on)

How are they with validation? Do they even respond without having to sue them?

their registered agent in texas is "CT Corporation System" does that sound right? Not having an individual as a registered agent? Appears to be their registered agent all over, just with different addresses depending on which state you are looking at.

They have to get the judgment where you commited the delinquency, OR where you currently reside. If Georgia is not either one then don't worry. If they do try to do that the FDCPA addresses that directly:

§ 811. Legal actions by debt collectors [15 USC 1692i]

    (a) Any debt collector who brings any legal action on a debt against any consumer shall --

    (1) in the case of an action to enforce an interest in real property securing the consumer's obligation, bring such action only in a judicial district or similar legal entity in which such real property is located; or

    (2) in the case of an action not described in paragraph (1), bring such action only in the judicial district or similar legal entity --

    (A) in which such consumer signed the contract sued upon; or

    (B) in which such consumer resides at the commencement of the action.

    Ok thanks for the information.
Im betting that I'll have to ride the entire validation process out with them. I'll probably have to take them to court, just from reading about their reputation.
the fact that they dont actually have a person as the registered agent concerns me too.
Im wondering if I should send the validations to the closest RMA to me, or to the one that is on my credit report.
